Position Description: Instructional English Language Development Para Professional
School Year: Remainder of the 2017/2018 School Year
REPORTS TO: Principal/Executive Director/ EL Coordinator
COMPENSATION: $12.50 - $14.50 per hour, based on experience
NATURE OF WORK:
To provide a well-organized, smooth functioning school environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional programs and available resource materials. Paraprofessionals may be assigned to work in classrooms, office, media center or other areas.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with multiple small groups and individual students in the areas of language development in EL classroom, as well as, homeroom classroom settings
- Accurately/ thoroughly executes lesson plans given by EL Coordinator to assist in student learning
- Administers, scores and records achievement and diagnostic tests
- Digitally recording and tracking student academic and behavioral progress daily using Google Documents
- Reports student growth to EL Coordinator
- Helps establish and maintain positive and challenging learning environment
- Manages small group student behavior
- Communicates and collaborates regularly with EL Coordinator and classroom teacher
- Prepare materials for small groups using lesson plans provided
- Performs before, after school and lunchtime supervision
- Establishes and communicates clear learning objectives for all lessons
- Any additional duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have preferably completed two years of college or have an associate degree, or passed the paraprofessional assessment.
