Job Title: Technology Paraprofessional
Contract Days: 185 Days
Department: Technology
Reports To: Technology Director
SUMMARY: Provide administrative assistance to the Technology Director. Assist users with identifying problems and resolving them.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide administrative assistance to the Technology Director including create and distribute documents, maintain technology equipment and technology supplies stock, purchase orders, receive technology vendors, staff and visitors and facilitate assistance as needed.
Provide technology support for service desk calls, emails and walk-ins which includes finding solutions or workarounds and resolving calls immediately with the staff and students, creating tickets in help desk software and escalating tickets based on service level. Communicate with staff and students regarding call status and follow-up to assess customer satisfaction.
Manage student Chromebook issues, loaners, opt-outs, and other Chromebooks related responsibilities as needed. Manage passwords, users and devices in Google Administration. (Training will be provided.)
Maintain inventory of computer hardware, software, and lab materials. Order materials as requested or when needed.
Participate in school-wide state testing.
Supervise lunchroom and playground to ensure safety and security of students
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: The equivalent of an associate's (or higher) degree (48 semester hours) at an institute of higher
education demonstrating knowledge of technology is preferred, but not necessary.
EXPERIENCE: 3 years’ experience in Windows operating systems, local area networking, Chromebooks, and Google Suites.
3 years’ experience working in an educational environment.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT.
- Advanced oral and written communication, interpersonal, time management, problem-solving and report preparation
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with PCs, Chrome OS, Google Suites and Windows operating systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS Help Desk Certification preferred.
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY Acts a technical resource for hardware, software, peripheral, and telephone users throughout the school on a daily basis by assisting with problems and by providing training.
JUDGMENT AND DECISION-MAKING Work is self-directed and assigned by the volume of calls to the helpdesk.
This position requires strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, tact, and problem-solving skills to listen to end-user, identify type and severity of equipment problems, and talk user through resolution. Additionally, this position requires strong administrative skills and knowledge to perform these duties. Work is guided by product/service/system specifications and department and school policies and procedures. Decision making requires collaboration with Chromebook Coordinator and Computer Systems Administrator. Supervisor is occasionally involved in decision making.
DIVERSITY OF DUTIES Duties require thorough cross training in hardware, software, LAN and WAN networking, office equipment, Internet, E-mail, telecommunications, printers, copiers, and mainframe systems in the district. Additionally, must have strong administrative and customer service skills and knowledge of department policies and procedures. Responsibilities extend across several school areas on a daily basis.

WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
MENTAL FUNCTIONS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to analyze, communicate, instruct, compute, evaluate, and use interpersonal skills. Frequently required to coordinate and synthesize. Occasionally required to compare and copy.
