Nature of Work:

To provide support to the classroom teacher to ensure a positive, productive work and classroom environment: The specific responsibilities and duties for individual general education paraprofessionals will be delegated at the discretion of the classroom teachers with whom you are assigned.

Essential Functions

• Instructional Support
  • Assist teacher in testing/evaluation/ assessing students
  • Assist in preparing instructional materials
  • Conduct and manage small groups
  • Ensure students are engaged in classroom activities
• Resource  Support
  • Organize materials/supplies in the classroom
  • Assist in monitor and managing learning centers
• Behavior Management Support
  • Promote and follow all of the procedures, policies and rules established by the school and the classroom teachers.
  • Monitor students during transition times, lunch and recess
  • Develop positive social interactions with and between students
• Clerical Support

• Make copies/classroom materials
• Assist in monitoring student planners
• Sort and file student work
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and records

Preferred Qualifications:

Compensation Information:

• $12.00-$16.35 an hour depending on experience
