About the Position: To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning school environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. Paraprofessionals may be assigned to work in classrooms, office, media center or other areas.

Reading Intervention Coordinator and Dean of Students
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience and education
$12.50-$15.39 per hour

Essential Functions:
- Administers, scores, and records such achievement and diagnostic tests as the Academic Interventionist recommends for individual students.
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material skills utilizing the Tier II curriculum and Academic Interventionist.
- Assists the Academic Interventionist in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities.
- Operates and cares for equipment used within the intervention classroom for instructional purposes.
- Assist students master equipment or instructional materials within the curriculum.
- Distributes and collects workbooks, papers, and other materials for instruction.
- Guides independent study, enrichment work and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.
- Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods and field trips.
- Performs clerical duties assigned by the principal or other staff members.
- Obtains gathers and organizes pertinent data, as needed, and puts it in a usable form.
- Keeps bulletin board and other classroom learning display up to date
- Assists with such large group activities as drill work, reading and storytelling.
- Other duties as assigned.
A Qualified Candidate is Someone Who:
- Completed two years of college or have an associate’s degree, preferred;
- Passed the Paraprofessional Assessment;
- Has experience working with school-aged children;
- Literacy experience is a plus, but not necessary - will provide training!
