Eagle Ridge Academy is seeking a motivated and self-starter Building Technology Manager that will serve as a collaborative team member who inspires students and staff that develops high quality relationships within the educational environment.

 

Position will start as of June 1, 2021

 

Schedule: up to 40/week over a 12 month period 

Compensation: $45,000-55,000 annually (commensurate with experience and education)

Department: Informational Technology

Reports To: Head of School

SUMMARY: Provide technical support specific to the devices and software applications for students and staff at Eagle Ridge Academy enabling successful utilization of the building wide technology.  Serve as a technology resource and assist students and staff members with technical issues, and manage student user accounts on the domain.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Acts as the first level of support for all student-service desk calls, tickets, emails and walk-ins that includes finding solutions or workarounds and resolving calls immediately with the student, teacher, parent, or staff member. 
  • Establish and maintain a process that relates to documentation for issuing school devices to students and staff members.
  • Coordinating device warranty issues with third-party vendors, maintaining accurate records of requests.  Process departmental RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorization) for shipping and ensure credit. This includes packaging and mailing of packages via a shipping service. 
  • Processes all insurance related claims with insurance companies.  Coordinates with Dean of Students, Finance Manager, students and parents regarding claims and payments.
  • Electronically record technological resource inventories that include building software licenses, locations of software, machine locations and specifications using Google Suites, and Microsoft Office Suite-based productivity programs.
  • Creates and maintains school-related email database for students and staff members in the Google Education Suite.
  • Deploy and image new computer systems 
  • Deploy and support devices including iPads and Chromebooks
  • Perform maintenance and imaging of all client computer systems and other instructional equipment
  • Troubleshoot 1st level network connectivity issues
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues on workstations and laptops
  • Perform 1st and 2nd level software support in the Eagle Ridge Academy domain 
  • Work with vendors for software support and hardware repair parts
  • Communicate with students, parents, and staff members to educate them on basic functions on software and hardware devices
  • Maintain inventory of technology equipment.
  • Attend trainings and provide support for required state testing assessments
  • Run basic cable, data ports, and Ethernet lines with support of the facilities manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Information Systems or related field. Help Desk certification preferred but will consider experience.

 

EXPERIENCE: Knowledge and experience in Computer Information Systems or IT related experience.  Required experience with the following products: Chrome OS, iOS, and Google for Education. Experience with or willing to learn Meraki and Securly online programs.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:  A+ certification in both hardware and software and N+ certification required within 1-year of hire.  

 

JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING: Work is self-directed and assigned by the volume of calls to the devices help desk.  This position requires strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, tact, and problem solving skills.  Additionally, this position requires strong organizational skills and knowledge to perform the department’s warranty and insurance claims duties. Decision-making may require collaboration with staff, administration, students and parents.  Supervisor is occasionally involved in decision-making.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Furthermore, the employee must maintain a safe work environment.

 

MENTAL FUNCTIONS:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to analyze, communicate, instruct, compute, evaluate, and use interpersonal skills.  Frequently required to compare, copy, coordinate and synthesize.
